Position Overview The Illinois Department of Corrections is looking for a candidate to serve as an Electrician at Sheridan Correctional Center. The ideal candidate will perform routine maintenance inspections on the electrical equipment in all buildings at the facility. In addition, they will repair, maintain and install electrical systems at the facility, and seat and replace brushes. We encourage all qualified applicants to apply. Essential Functions Performs routine maintenance inspections in accordance with facility work order system and master craft/routine/ cycle lists. Repairs and maintains electric switchboards, panels, electrical components of air conditioners and other apparatus utilizing electricity or its effects. Installs and maintains electrical systems.
