Position Overview The Illinois Department of Corrections is looking for a candidate to operate, inspect and provide preventative and reparative maintenance to wells, high-and-low-pressure pumps, motors, filter beds, tanks, chlorinators and simple laboratory equipment. In addition, this position will perform daily testing of water level readings, water softeners, and iron filter, prepare weekly samples of chemicals, minerals and bacteria, prepare daily records on potable water and salt usage, serve as back-up to the Sewage Plant Operator, and remain up to date and in compliance with rules, directives, policies, procedures and regulations. Position Overview The Illinois Department of Corrections is looking for a candidate to serve as Stationary Engineer at Dixon Correctional Center. This position is responsible for assuming responsibility for the Power Plant and its equipment, and scheduling building repairs and shutdowns to ensure maximum operation and the least possible number of emergency situations due to the shutdowns. In addition, this position reviews and prepares reports, serves as lead worker, and remains up to date with all Department Rules, Administrative and Institutional Directives and Institutional Policies and Procedures.
